Moroccan footballer Soufiane Rahimi, who plays for UAE’s Al Ain, has broken his silence with a deeply emotional message following the tragic passing of his father last Thursday.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Rahimi wrote, “I write these words with tears in my eyes, still trying to come to terms with the hardest news I have ever received.”
He continued, “Today I bid farewell to my father, the man who was the first to believe in me, the first to encourage me, and my first supporter and pillar in my life and career—on the pitch and in everything in this life.”
A Profound Loss
Rahimi expressed the depth of his grief, saying, “Today you left, Dad, and a large part of me left with you. You have left a void in my heart that nothing can fill, and you have left behind memories that will stay with me as long as I live. You have left my sight, but you will never leave my heart.”
Reflecting on the funeral, he noted, “As I saw the large procession that accompanied you to your final resting place, I realized how loved you were and how much of an impact you had on people’s hearts. Your funeral was not just a farewell; it was a testament to your love and your place in the hearts of all who knew you. May God have mercy on all who accompanied you, all who prayed for you, and all who stood by us on this difficult day.”
A Son's Prayer and Promise
Rahimi also offered a prayer for his father, saying, “May God have mercy on you, Dad, with vast mercy, and admit you to His spacious paradise, and make your grave a garden from the gardens of paradise, and illuminate your grave, and comfort you in your solitude, and forgive you for your past and future sins.”
He concluded with a heartfelt promise, “I love you, Dad, and your love and memory will remain in my heart until the last day of my life. I will never forget you as long as I live, and I will carry your message and your words with me in every step until God brings us together again.”
