Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany has moved to calm concerns over the condition of Jamal Musiala, following the midfielder’s recent fainting episodes. Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Kompany confirmed that the club is handling the situation with the utmost care and that a decision on Musiala’s return will be made based on sporting considerations.
Kompany's Assurance on Musiala's Health
Kompany stated that he would not provide continuous updates on Musiala’s condition, emphasizing that the club always has the best experts available to assist. He noted that Musiala has been in good communication with the team. “We will make the appropriate decision from a sporting perspective. He needs to be able to play and perform well, and he has no issues in that regard. If it recurs, it won’t be a major concern for us,” Kompany added.
Background: Fainting Episodes and Medication Adjustment
Musiala suffered fainting episodes during two pre-season friendlies. Bayern Munich later explained that adjustments to the player’s medication led to these incidents. As a result, Musiala has not featured for Bayern since the start of the season, missing the German Super Cup, the Bundesliga opener against Stuttgart, and the DFB-Pokal first-round match against Osnabrück.
Training Progress and Upcoming Decision
Providing a positive update, Kompany revealed that Musiala has completed a week of training and is in good shape. “We have already defined how to handle him, and we will see what happens in today’s training before making the best decision for Jamal and the team,” the coach explained.

In other team news, Kompany disclosed that winger Serge Gnabry remains sidelined due to injury. The manager expects Gnabry to return to the squad next week.
