Apple’s October 2025 Plans: What Could Follow September’s Launches

Apple’s product calendar may not be finished for 2025. After a busy September that included several new devices, the company is rumored to have more releases planned for later in the year, with October emerging as the most likely window. According to reporting from MacRumors, an October event could serve as the stage for some of these announcements, while other products might arrive through press releases instead. Apple has not confirmed any event, and the details remain in the realm of rumor.

Why October Is the Focus

October has become a familiar month for Apple announcements. Over the past five years, the company has used October for a mix of events and press releases to introduce products that did not make the September cut. That pattern gives weight to the expectation that something similar could happen in 2025.

In 2021, Apple held an event called Unleashed, which brought MacBook Pro models with M1 Pro and M1 Max chips, AirPods 3, and new HomePod mini colors. The following year, October was handled through press releases under the Take Note banner, covering an iPad Pro with M2, a 10th-generation iPad, and a third-generation Apple TV 4K. In 2023, the Scary Fast event delivered MacBook Pro models with M3 series chips and a 24-inch iMac with M3. Last year, Apple used press releases to announce an iPad mini with A17 Pro, followed by the Mac Your Calendars series that introduced an iMac with M4, Mac mini with M4 and M4 Pro, and MacBook Pro models with M4 series chips. In 2025, the Something Powerful is Coming press releases already brought a 14-inch MacBook Pro with M5, an iPad Pro with M5, and a Vision Pro with M5.

That history does not guarantee an October event this year, but it does show that Apple is comfortable using the month for product news. The company may choose a full event for higher-profile items and reserve press releases for quieter updates. November or December launches are less common, making October the more probable target if Apple intends to release additional products before the end of 2025.

Rumored Products: iPad mini, iMac, and MacBook Pro

Several products are circulating in rumors, and some could fit naturally into an October announcement. The iPad mini is one of them. Reports suggest it may come with an A19 Pro or A20 Pro chip and an OLED display. A new speaker system without visible holes is also rumored, along with a water-resistant design. These changes would mark a notable shift for the compact tablet.

On the Mac side, a 24-inch iMac is expected to receive an M6 chip and new color options. A new base model of the 14-inch MacBook Pro is also rumored to feature an M6 chip. These updates would follow the M5-based releases that already arrived earlier in 2025.

A larger MacBook Pro overhaul is said to be further out. The 14-inch and 16-inch models are rumored to gain OLED displays, M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, a touch screen, Dynamic Island, and a thinner design. That redesign is not expected until late 2026, placing it well beyond any October 2025 announcements.

Apple TV and HomePod mini Updates

Apple’s home and entertainment devices are also part of the rumor mill. A new Apple TV is said to be in development with an A17 Pro chip or newer, 8GB of RAM, Siri AI, an N1 chip, Wi-Fi 7, and an updated Siri Remote. The design is expected to remain similar to the current model, suggesting the changes would be internal and functional rather than cosmetic.

The HomePod mini may see a comparable refresh. Rumors point to a newer chip, Siri AI, improved sound, an N1 chip, Wi-Fi 7, and second-generation Ultra Wideband. A possible red color option has also been mentioned. Like the Apple TV, the HomePod mini’s design is expected to stay largely the same.

Home Hub: A New Category

Among the rumored devices, the Home Hub stands out as an entirely new product. It is said to include Siri AI, a 6-7 inch square display, an A18 chip or newer, and FaceTime support. A new operating system would bring clock faces and widgets. Versions are rumored to include a tabletop model with a speaker base and a wall-mounted option. If it launches, the Home Hub would represent a fresh direction for Apple’s home strategy.

Timing and Uncertainty

With seven products mentioned in rumors, Apple could have enough material for an October event. However, not all of them may be ready at the same time. Some could appear via press release, following the approach Apple has used in previous years. The company has not confirmed any October plans, and the eventual lineup may differ from what rumors suggest. For now, the only certainty is that Apple has a history of October announcements, and 2025 could add another chapter to that pattern.
