Jose Mourinho’s notably subdued behavior during his second stint as Real Madrid manager has sparked skepticism among Spanish media, with some questioning whether the Portuguese coach’s newfound calm will last once results take a downturn.

Mourinho's Quieter Return to Real Madrid

Having returned to the Santiago Bernabeu nearly a decade after his departure, Mourinho has appeared more composed this time around, both in press conferences and on the touchline. However, not everyone is convinced this version of the ‘Special One’ is here to stay.

Journalist Julio Pulido's Doubts

Speaking on the Cadena SER program ‘El Larguero’, journalist Julio Pulido expressed his disbelief in the durability of Mourinho’s calm demeanor. His comments were highlighted by Mundo Deportivo.

“I don’t believe it, and let that be clear from the start,” Pulido said. The show’s director and host, Manu Carreno, echoed the sentiment, adding, “Let all those who don’t believe it line up.”

Predictions of a Breakdown Under Pressure

Pulido continued his critique, suggesting that Mourinho’s current approach would change as soon as Real Madrid faces a rough patch. “He has a roadmap that will blow up completely when things go wrong,” Pulido warned.

He further elaborated on Mourinho’s relationship with the press, saying, “It’s clear he’s trying to get closer to the media, but how long will that last? Until the press starts criticizing him, when he starts losing and the criticism comes.”

Mourinho's Stance on Referees Questioned

The journalist also touched on Mourinho’s recent comments about referees. “I’ve heard Mourinho say in recent days that he trusts the refereeing system, but when will he stop trusting it? When there are two decisions that harm Real Madrid,” Pulido remarked.

In conclusion, Pulido suggested that Mourinho’s current calm might be a temporary phase, with results and pressure set to test him as the season progresses.

Upcoming Test Against Real Betis

These remarks come ahead of Real Madrid’s anticipated away match against Real Betis on Friday evening in La Liga’s fourth round. The royal club has won all three of its opening matches so far.
