Dortmund's Comeback Victory
Dortmund secured their second win in as many matches, but not without a stern test from Hoffenheim. The visitors took a two-goal lead through Leon Avdulahou and Tim Lemperle, and held that advantage until the 54th minute. Serhou Guirassy pulled one back for Dortmund, and Fabio Silva equalized in the 66th minute. The turnaround was completed when Hoffenheim’s Haidari inadvertently turned a low cross into his own net, handing Dortmund all three points.
The victory also marked a milestone for Dortmund coach Niko Kovac, who has now accumulated 107 points in his first 50 matches in charge—a club record.
Bayern Munich Stumble to Draw
Bayern Munich failed to find the net against Schalke, wasting several second-half opportunities, notably through Harry Kane and Luis Díaz. The match ended goalless, with Schalke goalkeeper Loris Karius delivering a standout performance. This was the first time Bayern failed to score in a league match since their draw with Bayer Leverkusen in February 2025.
Elversberg's Late Winner
Elversberg snatched a dramatic 4-3 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach with a late goal, securing their second win in their first two matches of their debut Bundesliga season. Hugo Bolin scored twice for Mönchengladbach, while David Mokwa added another for the visitors, giving the home side a 2-1 lead at halftime. Elversberg coach Vincent Wagner was sent off in first-half stoppage time after receiving a second yellow card. Joe Scally extended Mönchengladbach’s lead, but Maurice Krattenmacher and Felix Kiedl scored twice for Elversberg to level the match. In second-half stoppage time, Krattenmacher struck the winner with a shot into the bottom corner.
Leverkusen Cruise Past Union Berlin
Bayer Leverkusen registered their first win of the season with a commanding 4-0 victory over Union Berlin. Ezequiel Fernández opened the scoring just one minute into the match, Facundo Medina added a second before halftime, and Patrik Schick and Ibrahim Maza scored after the break.
Bremen and Freiburg Also Win
Werder Bremen bounced back from their heavy defeat to Freiburg with a 3-1 win over RB Leipzig, thanks to goals from Eren Dinkçi, Niclas Füllkrug, and Marco Grüll. Freiburg continued their strong start with a 1-0 victory over Paderborn, Maximilian Eggestein scoring the only goal of the match in the first half.
