With the summer transfer window for Europe’s major leagues drawing to a close, a number of seasoned strikers remain without clubs. These free agents can be signed by any team without paying a transfer fee, offering valuable experience and firepower. Among the most notable names are Argentina’s Mauro Icardi, France’s Anthony Martial, Spain’s Joselu Mato, the Netherlands’ Myron Boadu, and England’s Danny Ings.

Mauro Icardi: A Proven Goal Scorer

At 33 years old, Icardi tops the list of available strikers. His recent spell with Galatasaray in Turkey came to an end after four seasons, during which he netted 77 goals. This stint helped him rediscover much of the scoring form he previously displayed at Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain. The Argentine forward is reportedly attracting interest from Besiktas, who are keen to keep him in the Turkish league.

Anthony Martial: European Experience

Anthony Martial, 30, is another striking option. The French forward became a free agent after his time with Mexican club Monterrey concluded. Martial has previously played for Monaco, Manchester United, Sevilla, and AEK Athens, giving him extensive experience across European competitions.

Myron Boadu: Youth and Potential

Dutch striker Myron Boadu offers a different profile due to his age—he is only 25. He is without a club after his contract with PSV Eindhoven expired. Although injuries have hampered his progress in recent years, Boadu still possesses the pace, movement, and experience needed to make a comeback.

Joselu Mato: A Proven Performer

Joselu Mato stands out among available Spanish forwards. The 36-year-old is searching for a new club after leaving Qatari side Al-Gharafa. He boasts a strong scoring record, particularly after his decisive 2023-2024 season with Real Madrid, where he played a key role in the team’s Champions League triumph.

Danny Ings: English Football Veteran

Danny Ings, 34, is also on the list, having become a free agent after departing Sheffield United. The English striker has extensive experience in English football, having played for Liverpool, Southampton, Aston Villa, and West Ham. This makes him a suitable option for clubs seeking a seasoned forward without a transfer fee.
